This is the house that we are staying in
The guys helped out with some practicle work in the church
We were exploring the city and praying for specific needs in the community. Some of the prayer points were for the teachers and students at the University, that justice would take place in the courts, and that the people at the city hall would have the desire to serve the people in the community.

Saturday preparing the love feast for the students
Welcome to our new blogspot! Hope you enjoy following us in Modova as you did in Romania. I know its been a while since we have been able to write you anything so we have a lot to catch up on. It was last Friday when we arrived in Cahul, Moldova. Cahul is a city of about 40,ooo and is a little bigger, busier and active than Medias, Romania (the town we just came from.) Moldova is also the place where many of the girls on staff at YWAM in Medias are from. So in this way they are doing mission in thier own back yards; seeing old friends and family that they haven't seen in a long time. Its encouraging to see them starting new things and doing mission in places that they grew in up as a child.
When we arrived on Friday around noon from traveling by trian all night since 1am, most of us were really tired and just got settled in and rested the remainder of the day. Saturday was the day that all 4 students arrived for the mini DTS (which lasts for a month with diffrent teachings each week about such things like finding your purpose, developing your spiritual gifts and mission.) When they arrived we all got aquainted by having a "love feast" or agape feast that night. We were suprised and glad to see that all the students seem to be very open and feeling right at home. Later that night we ended with a time of worship and prayer for the students and the school.
On Sunday we had the privalage to visit a local Babtist church where one of the girls (Virgina) is a member at and has been attending for quite some time. Micheal gave a short testimony and I (Jon) gave a short message. The youth pastor of the church gave the main message for the day which was about prayer. It was a very good message and many people left encouraged saying how much they liked what he had to say. Afterwards some of the families from the church invited us to have lunch with them in thier homes. We all had a great time getting to know some of our brothers and sisters in Christ from Moldova and expeirencing the culture. I will explain a little more about Moldova and the culture in a later post. Later that day we took a little tour of Cahul to get to know the town a little better. While we were seeing the town Virgina (who grew up in Cahul) would point out things like the University, the City Hall and other important places and give prayer points for each.
Moday was our first day of classes which are being held in Virgina's church (the same one we visited on Sunday.) The students here are ready learn and soak up all of the teaching. They are also very interactive and creates a good environment for learning. We ended the day with some games and had a really good and halarious time.
Today (Tuesday) after classes we will be going the Virgina's church and learning how they do evangelism in Cahul. After this we will be putting it into practice with some of the people from the church.
More details are to come about Cahul and the culture here. Love you all!
